10 Skin Care Tips for Oily Skin

Pulished on 07:00 By Admin
Oily skin is something which is backed by overactive sebaceous glands. The incessant secretion of sebum or oil gives the face a constant shine and no amount of powdering can remove the sheen.

Having excess facial oil can be genetic. It could also be caused by hormonal changes in the body during adolescence, puberty, menopause, menstrual periods or pregnancy. Such skin could be the hotbed of the most dreaded four letter word ‘acne’. In the US, almost 85% teenagers have some form of acne.

Specifically one particular male hormone, androgen has a direct hand in triggering the oil secreting glands of the skin. Androgen is also found in women. When due to any hormonal imbalance the levels of androgen increase in the body, skin becomes oilier.

Top 10 skin care tips for oily skin:

  • Frequent washing of face with a mild soap can inhibit oil production leaving the face cleaner and fresh looking. A good oil control face wash would be beneficial. Using a wipe from time to time when washing face is not possible also helps.
  • Using an astringent solution after cleaning helps to shrink pores and reduce oil secretion.
  • The third step after cleaning and toning would be moisturizing. An oil free moisturizer is essential to provide the right moisture in this type of skin.
  • Avoid using cosmetics which contains alcohol. Alcohol tends to make skin very dry.
  • Choosing the right cosmetics for the skin is essential. Something which does not dry out the skin overtly is necessary.
  • It would be a good idea to stay away from excessive oily and fatty food. Processed food with high sugar content and preservatives also affects the skin adversely.
  • Asking the doctor about whether the class of drugs retinoid is suitable for you. These drugs ensure that the glands produce less oil.
  • Sometimes being on a birth control pill may help control oil production in the facial glands, as it plays a role in monitoring the levels of androgen in the body.
  • It is very important to remove make up properly especially in oily skin. Remnants of make up along with dirt and sebum may clog pores and cause acne.
  • Using a face pack made of fullers earth, rose water, and lemon juice two times a week will make skin achieve a normal texture.

Daily Cleansing
Be gentle to your daily cleansing routine. Do not rub hard on any part of your body. If you are using any skin tonic that contains alcohol, stop using it during winter, alcohol causes further dryness of skin and makes it all the more sensitive.

Normal Delivery vs. Cesarean Section

In many countries, there is a huge rise in recent years in the Cesarean births over normal deliveries which are not really needed. Caesarian birth or C-section was opted as last option when doctors found difficulty in vaginal birth.

MOST doctors won't give you an elective c-section and even the women’s should elect the vaginal birth. With normal delivery mothers gain a lot of benefits and are far away from the side effects of c- section. The benefits of normal over cesarean births are:

 Vaginal Birth

1.Sexual life

Opting the cesarean birth can cause discomfort in the genital area of the mother. This discomfort may be because of tearing, and may be due to hemorrhoids. Just because of this you may feel an intensepain in your back .even the sexual intercourse may be no longer pleasurable and gives you a discomfort.
In the normal deliveries there is no such problem faced and even you are immune with any sort of further problems and your sexual life is also not disturbed.

2.Digestive system

Just after C-section, a new mother can find problem in the digestion as her digestive system may not work properly just because of the  trapped gas In the normal deliveries your digestive system does not get upset and it works properly. There may be few changes in the routine but it is not a cause of worry.

3.Excessive pain

An obvious outcome of the cesarean delivery is the intense pain and the feel of burning sensation.
The cuts made on the lower body in the operations causes occasional pain and an itchy plus burning feel that can last for few months. On the contrary in vaginal birth there are no cuts or marks made on your body so there is no question of burning sensation.

4.Less chances of normal delivery

further After a Cartesian birth in past, further the chances of normal delivery decreases (when a lady is pregnant again) and  again you have to go for Caesarian birth and have to face all its ill effects After a normal delivery you give birth to the child normally.

5.Risk factor

There is a chance of many complications after Caesarian birth and you may not be able to live a healthy life if any miss happening occurs though the chances are less but still things can go worse.
If we talk about normal delivery you are assured with living a normal life.

6.Pain during delivery

A positive side in cesarean birth is that during the delivery you will not face the excessive pain which women face in normal delivery. That’s why today many people prefer C-section over.
During the natural delivery women bear lot of pain , but this pain is gone soon as baby is born .

7.Recovery

After c-section birth, the stay at hospital is long because  you body require time to recover. It takes time to coming back to the normal .The recovery is fast. You can even get a quick discharge from hospital after normal delivery.

8.Blood clots

If a  lady find difficulty in walking after her delivery , then the chances of having blood clots in legs increases. In vaginal delivery there are no such problem of blood clots.

So all this facts prove that vaginal birth is much secure as compared to cesarean. There is risk in every decision and what mode of birth you choose should be selected by proper monitoring and knowledge. The outcome of this will be good for the mother and the baby.

It occurs due to infection of the pelvis or reproductive organs which also comprises ovaries, the fallopian tubes and the uterus. Normally, Pelvic Inflammatory Disease stems from bacteria that cause sexually transmitted diseases (STD), such as gonorrhea or Chlamydia. Another reason that causes PID is Pelvic Tuberculosis.

Non-sterile abortion under unhygienic conditions is also another reason for PID. Ruptured appendix is also responsible for PID. The symptoms of PID or Endometriosis are acute pain during menstrual periods, more bleeding irregularly. A frequent miscarriage is also cause Pelvic Inflammatory Disease.

 Ovulation Problems

Due to some problems such as hormonal that prevents release of grown-up egg from woman’s ovary. When any one part of the system controlling reproductive function becomes fail, it causes ovulation problem. This system contains the hypothalamus which in an area of the brain, pituitary gland, adrenal glands, thyroid gland, and genital organs.

Signs of ovulation problem are irregular or missing periods, too much bleeding or less bleeding. The reason of ovulation is due to stress, athletic training that can affect a woman's hormonal balance.  Ovulation problems may cause due to a hormonal imbalance from a serious medical problem like a pituitary gland tumor. Women’s most fertile period are considered during ovulation. Without ovulation eggs are not available to get fertile. Thus, it causes infertility in women.

This problem generally occurs during period of age between 30 to 40 years. Incapability of fertile egg to implant in the uterus can also cause for infertility in women.

In women, cervix mucus is thick and impenetrable to sperm until ovulation. Before ovulation it becomes clear and flexible.

It allows sperm to move through the mucus in the uterus up to the fallopian tubes for fertilization process. Due to some infection if mucus unable to change ovulation, it resists pregnancy. If mucus contains antibodies that kill sperm before it reaches to egg can also cause for barrier in pregnancy.

Polycystic Ovarian Syndromes (PCOS)Causes of infertility in women

In PCOS, the ovaries generate extremely high amount of androgens (a male hormone) which creates high level of LH and low level of FSH, which is for balancing hormone. In such condition the follicles not succeed in emitting a mature egg. In the absence of the egg the follicles swell with fluid and form into cysts gradually.

The process is repeated each time with swelling of the ovary until it reaches to the size of a grape. In this situation, progesterone is not produced and level of the estrogen level remains unchanged. PCOS cause irregular ovulation. Common symptoms of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) are fast weight gain (due to high level of androgens cause obesity), facial hair, acne and irregular menstrual periods.

Female (Fallopian) Tube Blockages

Due to Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID) or endometriosis, fallopian tubes get damaged or blocked. Due to damaged or blockage it resists eggs to reach to uterus and sperm to reach to the egg. How to Stop Thumb Sucking

Does your child still suck her thumb? While this habit usually goes as your child grows older, it's best to nip it in the bud.

You needn't worry too much about thumb sucking as most children do kick the habit before the age of 5. But if your child is past the age of 6 and still shows no sign of reducing her thumb sucking, there may be a slight cause for concern. This this will almost definitely have an effect on her permanent teeth, so if you manage to get her to stop much before this age, there's nothing like it. In fact, some schools of thought are of the opinion that thumb sucking should be stopped as early as possible.

You should consult your dentist, and let your dentist have a word with your child.

A person's teeth - and facial features for that matter - develop the most when the person is between the ages of 4 and 14. Dental structures start getting formed from the age of 5, as this is when the permanent teeth slowly start appearing. Now if your child is still sucking her thumb, she is interfering with the natural growth of her teeth.

An Overbite

Your child is almost certain to develop an overbite, which is when the upper row of teeth juts out over the lower layer of teeth. She may even develop Bugs Bunny teeth, where her front two teeth jut out prominently.

Lisp

A poor alignment of teeth will almost certainly lead to some speech disorders, and could lead to a lisp. Even if she has braces later on in life, the habit of lisping might never go.

To test the extent of damage caused by thumb sucking, a dental group studied around 400 babies in Iowa, United Stated, until the age of four.
The researchers regularly questioned the parents about their children's thumb sucking habits. After the age of four, models were made of the children's teeth.

Needless to say, the teeth of those kids who stopped sucking their thumb before they turned one, were in pretty good shape. Damage to the teeth increased amongst approximately 6% of the kids who stopped sucking their thumb by the age of 2. Crossbite and overbite were more prevalent by 13 percent amongst those kids who stopped thumb sucking between the ages of 2 and 3, and this figure increased to 20 percent, in the group of kids who were still sucking their thumbs.

While most of this damage is caused to the child's baby teeth, there is a chance that it will affect the permanent teeth as well - especially if the child continues sucking her thumb after the age of six.

Thus, this is one habit which is best nipped in the bud. Thumb Sucking

Fertility Food for Women

For all those women who aspire to conceive in near future, a healthy diet and a fit lifestyle is extremely necessary, as this might have a great impact on the health of your baby.

For both women and men who wish to become parents and want their child to be healthy, a few things to be followed are having a balanced diet, regular exercise that is just necessary for a healthy body and mind, and avoiding unhealthy habits like smoking, consuming alcohol and eating too much junk foods like those made in untreated oil or refined sugar and containing too many preservatives and chemicals.

Foods that assist in increasing fertility in women
There are a few things about your diet which you must know and follow in order to increase your fertility and if you wish to conceive a healthy and a happy baby.

Plant Proteins :
Proteins that come from plant sources like beans, different types of dals, peas, and peanuts have always been helpful in increasing a woman’s fertility, in contrast to protein from meat and poultry. Beans are also Rich in iron, which is another helpful builder of fertility.

Whole grains :
Complex carbohydrates like whole grain breads, brown rice, cornmeal, and oatmeal do not make changes to blood sugar and insulin as majorly as refined carbohydrates which include white bread, white rice, bleached flour, and so on. It is also suggested that anything that is advantageous for insulin is also great for fertility in a woman.

Fruits and vegetables :
The most important and natural food source essential to increase fertility and health of a person are the fresh fruits and vegetables. First of all, they are loaded with antioxidants, which increase general as well as reproductive health. Many fruits and vegetables like oranges, lemons and other citrus fruits, strawberries, melons and green leafy vegetables are rich in folic acid, which is an essential nutrient, extremely necessary before pregnancy to prevent birth complications and illnesses.

Healthy Fats like  Mono unsaturated, Poly unsaturated and Omega3 :
Unsaturated fats like monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, and omega-3 fatty acids are really helpful in stimulating fertility of a woman, and these have to be carefully distinguished from trans fat and other forms of saturated fats, which have to be avoided at all costs as they can be very harmful for your fertility. These fats help in declining inflammation and increasing insulin sensitivity. Food sources like avocados, nuts, sesame and pumpkin seeds, sardines, and salmon are very rich in these forms of fats and must be consumed in defined quantities by all aspiring mothers.

Full-Fat Dairy Products :
It might be astonishing to know whole milk, full-fat yogurt and even ice cream as fertility enhancing foods, but it is suggested by many experts and doctors that women who consume these foods, in contrast to low-fat or no-fat dairy product have lesser complications with ovulation and pregnancy, as dairy contains high content of proteins and calcium, which is a a great fertility nutrient, and has a good affect on the health of a child, since the mother stays healthy, consuming these full fat dairy products.

It is also suggested to women to avoid having unpasturized foods, as they may come with a risk of contamination. Also they should avoid foods with high content of vitamin A like cod liver oil and other habits of smoking and consuming alcohol and caffeine must strictly be avoided to prevent miscarriages and lower fertility among women.
